These charming communities, witch large airlines are no longer interested in flying small numbers of passengers to, are the
destinations for SGA operations. |
| SGA assumes the flight frequency suitable to serv these potential communities,
and provide transfer options to replace time-consuming, rugged ground service.
Since we are specialized in serving beautiful small cities, emphasis is put on frequency

a nearby forested mountain. It was built in 1383 and is situated 3,520 feet above sea level.

| The old road was narrow and muddy, and in some parts, visitors had to
climb through jungle. On foot, the journey took about five hours to reach the top.
These was a saying in the old days that reaching the pagoda was limited to those strongly devoted.
Until the year 1934, Kruba Srivichai, the most reserved monk of Lanna Thai (Northern Thailand area),
came to Chiang Mai and initiated the rord construction project.
The remarkable completion celebration in 1935 was hosted by ChowKeo Nawarat, ruler of Chiang Mai city at that time. |

The Winding Mae Ping River flows through the city of Chiang Mai and provides the
surrounding countryside with irrigation for rice paddies, gardens and crops.
To locals, Mae Ping is known as the "Lifeline of the province". It is 569 Km long,
and originates from mountains near Chiang Dao, the northernmost past of Chiang Mai.
it flows through Chiang Mai and the city has been carefully built up along the river following Thai tradition.
From Chiang Mai, Mae Ping flows further southward and gradually windens as it passes
through the ancient, northern town of Lamphun, then to Tak and Khamphangphet,
It ends in Nakon Sawan, where it combines with three other rivers into Thailand's mainstream the Chao Phraya.
For over 700 years the Mae Ping River has been a major source of water supply for Chiang Mai.
Historically, the Mae Ping provided the people water for household usage, irrigation, food supply
and main transportation routes. At the turn of the century, it was even estirmated that
more than a thousand boats per day moved between Chiang Mai and Tak. The number of boats has
diminished greatly over the last century, since the river itself has become shallower and less swift
than before. The river, however, still plays a vital role for thousands of Thais who live its banks. |

The highlight of this sight seeing flight is Thailand's biggest limestone mountain,
Doi Chiang Dao. Geographically, the area is a complex of mountains and fertile forest, where
a National wildlife protection area was setup. The national park, covering totally about 1,123 square kilometers,
or 702,085 rai, was established in November, 2000, to protect various species,
sush as goral, wild boar, barking dear, bantengm guar, porcupine, langur,
palm civet, squirrel, chipmunk plus many kinds of rare birds and reptiles.
By road, Chiang Dao is Located 70 Kilometres north of Chiang Mai on the way to Fang district.
The top of Thailand's third highest peak is usually shrouded in clouds, and it is home to a number of hilltribe
villages, including Lisu, Lahu and Karen settlements.
The people of Chiang Dao are known as phi pop or spirit people. Taking advantage of
the superstitions prevalent in the country, a cunning law giver enacted that all such people must
live together in locallities set apart for them. In border lands theres are numerous such place which
have to be guarded by the local police.
Scenery araound Chiang Dao peak is remarkable. The flight will take you to areas which are impossible to visit otherwise. |
 |
After Chiang Dao, we will make a left turn to fly over Mae Ngat Dam, the well-know picturesque fishing paradise.
The Dam was built on the Mae Ngat river, submerging the valley and forming a large reservoir with numerous tributaries
in the jungle area. The lake is approximately 1,281 square kilometers, nestled between the Mae Tang forest and Mae Ngat forest.
It offer one of the North's most amazing wilderness areas. There are many floating residences further down the reservoir,
accessible by motor boat.
|
 |
Further down from Mae Ngat dam is the old Mae Kuang reservoir, 40 km northeast of Chiang Mai. The Dam is a
rotally sponsored project and was completed in 1992 with 73-m height and 610 m. crest lenght. It has a capacity of
263 million cubic metres intended for irrigating the rich farmland of Doi Saket, Sankampaeng and Lamphun.
The reservoir has never been full all year long. The in-flow during the rainy season can not keep up with the draw off for
irrigation during the dry season. The Mae Khuang dam also serves the irrigation canals which run in the east and
central areas of the Chiang Mai flood plain. There are plans to build a pipeline for the Mae Ngat dam to help fill
the Mae Khuang Dam.
This other hidden fisherman's paradise has breathtaking scenery surrounded by misty mountains
as a backdrop that will assure you of a wonderful trip. |

art and cultural center, where many artists, craftsmen, artisans live.
The district is located 13 Kilometers east of Chiang Mai and famous for silk and a cotton weaving. All are of high quality.

the way from Chiang Mai to San Kampheang. Also located in San Kam Peang is Bo Sang village,
the famous place for northern hand-made umbrellas. |

| Before landing down at Chiang Mai Airport, we will see the venue of Royal Flora Ratchaphruek that was held in 2006.
The event represented a concerted effort of the Thai people to create one of the world's most beautiful international
horticultural expositions as an expression of deep love and respect for their Beloved King.
